As the seasons change, we notice the leaves on the trees letting go, it seems so permanent. But the leaves will return. The fruit will return. The joy of life will return. But right now in this season there is loss, there is letting go, there is dormancy. But there is still life! You just can’t see it. The tree looks like it’s dead, but it’s only the season. Life has it Seasons.
In the same way, sometimes things appear to be lifeless, but deep inside where it matters God is doing a work that only he can see. In the stillness, on the inside something is growing, the seed is growing, the embryo is developing, new life is springing forth. Should we fight against these seasons of loss or should we place ourselves in the hands of the Potter and allow him to bring forth new life in us? Can you trust even if nothing makes sense and you don’t understand? Jesus will never stop giving new life; but for a season, we may not see it.
What season are you walking through right now? Whatever it is, may you sense the hope of quiet growth stirring, even in the letting go, knowing you are not forgotten and there is new life ahead!
“The house was filled with people weeping and wailing, but he said, “Stop the weeping! She isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him because they all knew she had died. Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice, “My child, get up!” And at that moment her life returned, and she immediately stood up! Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.” Luke 8:52-55 NLT
As you consider what season you are in, Is there an area that may be going dormant? Maybe it’s a ministry, relationship, job or commitment? Hold it with care while it is in your heart and life, then let it go into the capable hands of the Potter, to allow for the new growth and formation in the new season that certainly will come.
