Where I sit for my morning coffee I look out our front window past the pink roses and manicured lawns and I see a POW/MIA flag hanging on a neighbor’s house. It’s always there, every season. It never comes down. To me it represents the ultimate sacrifice for ones country. It is a symbol of deep sadness and loss, but at the same time honor and respect. It’s something my neighbor carries with him every day.

What can I do to honor the bravery of those who have given their lives for my freedom? And for those who walk with me daily who sacrifice for what is true and right? Right now we all fly a flag of sadness and loss because of the current situation in the world. But thank God we have hope and faith that Jesus will redeem this world and His people by the power of His cross!

Jesus was and is the ultimate soldier who conquered death and hell for us. They crucified and buried His body but He is alive and will return for His bride at the time appointed by the Father. Even though we walk through the valley, we go from strength to strength (Ps 84). God sees. He hears us and he understands everything. We are not alone and we will dwell with Him in His Kingdom where He will show us His favor and honor because He loves us. If you haven’t experienced the God of all comfort, please reach out and let me share with you the hope He gives us.

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,

for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9
